Sheesh, it's been a while!

Blame the computer virus.

Recent news:

The Blue Pony Herd grew - I made the list for Swirling Sky. :)

Breyer charged my credit card this week for my Pamplemousses (Pamplemeese?)

I was lucky enough to read my email last weekend and find a JCPenney coupon code, so I bought the Xmas SRs. Even more luckily, they were marked down already (50% for the SM set, 30ish% for the others), in addition to the 20% off and free shipping (!) with the email code.

Of course, they're all back-ordered, so who knows when they'll actually get here.

And, unfortunately, I forgot to enter the Lakeshore Club Contest this year. :( Bah.

No Spring

Well, no call from Breyer yet, so I guess I won't be getting a purple pony.

Ah well. Maybe I'll paint my own. I've got a Legionario body that might look nice in purple. With gold points, even.

Spring

So, I just sent my email entry for the Spring has Sprung drawing. We'll see what happens.

I've got quite the collection of blue horses somehow. There's the decorator set of SM Saddlebreds, a Wedgwood MFT from Breyer's anniversary, and my space-themed set of Odyssey and a Stone Space Pony. (Hmmm, it seems like a lot of these blue horses are the Clock Horse. Interesting.) The blue roan El Pastor. Probably a few I don't recall, since 95% of my horses are boxed up at the moment.

I don't mind decorators or fantasy patterns. Heck, the horse I drooled over for a year before I talked myself into buying him secondary-market? Masquerade. Now there's a fantasy pattern for you.

Anticipation

Almost 5 years ago, I bought my first unpainted resin, a UVM Yesteryear. And three months ago, I finally packed him off to be painted.

Just got the email that the artist is done and my last payment is there, so he'll be on his way home soon. If the blizzard doesn't slow him down, that is.

Can't wait to see him.

Today's gamble

I haven't bought many flea market horses in a while, and usually don't find any screaming deals, but I may have gotten close this time. I stopped in one of the local antique malls yesterday and found two slightly overpriced vintage Breyers - a glossy charcoal Fighting Stallion and a black pinto Western Horse with a snap saddle, $65 each. I've got a snap-saddle WH already, although mine is missing an eartip. This one had both ears, but is horribly yellowed. Same for the Fighter, he's so yellowed that the tag said "gold mane" on it. But, the dealer had everything 30% off, so I thought about it overnight and went back for the Fighter today.

After the discount, he was just under $50. His paint job otherwise is very nice, as far as I can tell. Minor eartip rubs, but the eyewhites are there, and no major rubs anywhere. Hopefully he'll clean up nice. He can be my rehab project for the year, although sunning him may have to wait for summer.
